The Peruvian creole cattle (PCC) is a neglected breed and an essential livestock resource in the Andean region of Peru. To develop modern breeding program conservation strategies for PCC, better understanding genetics this needed. We sequenced whole genome PCC using de novo assembly approach with paired-end 150 strategy on Illumina HiSeq 2500 platform, obtaining 320 GB sequencing data. A reference scaffolding was used to improve draft genome. obtained size 2.81 Gb contig N50 108 Mb 92.59% complete BUSCOs. This similar references Bos taurus B. indicus. In addition, we identified 40.22% repetitive DNA assembly, which retroelements occupy 32.39% total 19,803 protein-coding genes were annotated For SSR data mining, detected statistics comparison other breeds. will contribute species its adaptation tough conditions ecosystem.
